We describe a hypothetical JWST observing program aimed at detecting galaxies at z >8 with the ultimate goal of identifying first light objects. We discuss instrumental options and exposure times relying on experience from the Hubble Ultra Deep Field.
JWST-related research at the STScI is supported by NASA contract NAS5-03127 for the JWST Science and Operations Center.
