Did field B-stars come from dispersed open clusters? Or were they born in a less dense non-cluster environment with no connection to open clusters? The direct result of the former scenario is that field B-stars would be older than cluster B-stars. We have developed a set of spectroscopic diagnostic methods which help us to determine projected equatorial velocities (V sin i), effective temperatures (Teff), and surface gravities (log g) of B-stars. These stellar parameters can help us to establish the stellar evolutionary status of these stars accurately, and, thus, offer us one possible way to learn about the origin of the nearby field B-stars. Large samples of both cluster and field B-stars were investigated by these methods, and some preliminary results are reported.
