The two radio sources 4C29.6 (3C59) and 4C35.37 were identified optically with rather distant Seyfert galaxies. Observations with the MERLIN array show both cases to be misidentifications. The 4C35.37 is an unrelated, double lobed background source, whereas the Seyfert itself is not detected. The 4C29.6 appears mainly a superposition of two background sources (a core source with one sided jet, and a small scale double), while the Seyfert is also detected. The observed radio structures and the relevance of these results for our understanding of the overall radio properties of Seyferts are discussed.
