Results are presented of spectroscopic investigations of the Cu and Zn abundances in 40 disk and halo stars. The results confirmed and extended the previous findings of Sneden and Crocker (1988). It is shown that the Zn abundances closely track the overall metallicities: Zn/M = +0.04 + or - 0.02. However, all metal-poor stars displayed Cu deficiencies, which appear to vary linearly with metallicity: Cu/M = 0.38(M/H) + 0.15. The Cu-abundance trend in giants of 15 globular clusters is in good agreement with that of the field stars. The nucleosynthesis implications of the obtained results are discussed.
