Spectrophotometric results of narrow-emission-line galaxies known to be X-ray sources are discussed. In many respects, the spectra of these galaxies are similar to Seyfert type 2 and other narrow-emission-line galaxies. However, evidence for a high level of ionization is indicated in two objects (NGC 2110 and NGC 2992) by the presence of forbidden Fe X 6374 A, and in four of the five survey objects a broad H-alpha component has been found. The FWZI of H-alpha in these objects ranges from 2300 to 5700 contrasted with the forbidden lines, which have a FWZI of 1000 to 1500 km/s. This finding is consistent with Seyfert type 1 and broad-line radio galaxies, which show an association between a broad-line component (at least at H-alpha) and the emission of X-rays.
