Scientific paper
The figure-eight orbits obtained by Miller and Smith (1979) inside the
central bar structure of galaxies are used to establish possible
potential functions which result in such orbits. It is shown that r to
the -6th power type potentials are special cases of distance and
angle-dependent potential functions.
