Temporal shifts of three proton events were measured using cross correlational analysis of 10-s data for the count rates of neutron monitors in the Apatites and the Oulu stations, located 450 km from each other. The three proton events were those on October 22, 1989; May 21, 1990; and May 26, 1990, all of which were characterized by sharp increases of intensity of solar cosmic rays. Results show that, in two of these events, the temporal shift did not exceed +/- 30 s, while in the third case the delay was 1.5 min or less.
