The solar color, Hyades distance and metal-content are not independent of each other. This is shown here by using results of model interior calculations and of model stellar atmospheres, in a differential way only, to interpret new scanner observations of 9 Hyades dwarfs. This interpretation removes the long-standing discrepancy between metal abundances determined spectroscopically, and from the position of the main sequence. For a distance of 45 pc, masses of visual and spectroscopic binaries are no longer found to be too small. Thus, for the first time, the theory of stellar evolution correctly predicts the Hyades' main sequence, as well as the mass luminosity relation, with solar values of Y and Z.
