Consideration is given to an axially symmetric model of a sunspot whose equilibrium in the gravity field is supported by MHD forces. The necessary magnetic field is created by azimuthal currents inside a limited volume located below the photosphere surface. Formulas which link the temperature distribution and the depression profile shape with the magnetic field distribution are derived; the formulas qualitatively fit the observational data.
