Parameters of shock waves caused by the entry of large meteoroids into the earth's atmosphere were evaluated. The distance of the shock from the critical point, the depth of the shock front and the relaxation layer, the duration of the ionization relaxation for each stage of ionization, and boundary layer and meteor vapor layer thickness were all evaluated. Tables of results are given and graphs of initial velocity and other parameters are presented. Formulas for convective heat transfer and electronic heat conductivity and solutions for absorption of radiation generated by shock waves in the meteor vapor layer are given. Results were used to estimate values of the heat transfer coefficient. Estimated values were found to be lower than those previously obtained.
