Cassatella and Smolinski (1991) recently reported the discovery of a B-type companion to the K-supergiant star HR 237 (HD 4817) and suggested that the system may be a new member of the small class of Zeta Aur systems. It is argued here that the radial velocity of HR 237 has never shown any detectable variability and that the system is not a Zeta Aur one. It is further argued that the discovery of the hot companion could well be attributed to Nassau and van Albada (1947).
