In august-september 1985 during the perihelion passage of the comet Giacobini-Zinner at its minimal geocentric distance, observations with the RATAN-600 telescope were realized. Many hour records in the 21 cm radioline were received to measure the background HI emission of the sky at the level of the comet's head and at its geocentric velocity.
The aim of observations was to find possible influence of the comet's neutral hydrogen on the background HI emission. Special attention was devoted to get the comparison without the comet. The events of the observations will be given in the communication
