The deep V,I photometry of Layden & Sarajedini (2000) yielded color-magnitude diagrams (CMDs) of the local group dSph galaxy Sagittarius (Sgr) which reach well below the oldest main-sequence turnoffs. For each assumed star formation rate (SFR(t)), chemical enrichment (Z(t)) and binary properties, we create a model CMD by populating Bertelli (1994) isochrones. The observational errors are carefully simulated by artificial star tests and added to the synthetic CMDs. By comparing the stars' distribution in synthetic and observed CMDs, we will find out the best matched synthetic CMD which corresponds the most reasonable combination of SFR(t), Z(t) and binary properties. From this technique, it is possible to dig out the star formation history of Sgr. This progress report describes our methods and presents preliminary results.
