The existence of the cometopause discovered by Vega-2 plasma observations in comet Halley's coma was recently questioned by Reme et al. based on their interpretation of Giotto data. This paper discusses the earlier presented Vega-2 observations with some new aspects supporting the existence of a boundary between the solar wind controlled cometosheath and the heavy cometary ion dominated plasma region.
