We use a non-exchange distorted wave approximation to compute collision strengths for electron excitation of Ca+. The lowest 7 ionic terms are included in our model of the target. A spline fitting procedure incorporating the Born high energy limiting values enables us to interpolate collision strengths at large impact energies. Thermal averaging is performed analytically after linearly interpolating the data points. The resulting effective collision strengths for 21 transitions in Ca+ are presented in compact form by using the program OMEUPS to spline fit the data.
