The 70/100 cm Maksutov telescope of the University of Chile has been used to conduct a search for objects with UV excess (U-B less than about -0.35) over the 6.5 x 6.5-deg area centered on 00 h 53 m, -28 deg. Out of the 347 UV excess objects found, it is noted that seven out of the 17 blue stars from the Haro and Luyten (1962) list located in the search area have been rediscovered.
