The main parameters of the primary in the close binary system AEAqr are considered on the basis of published observational data. Parallel to the commonly accepted model an alternative one - a binary with a light neutron star - is discussed. It is shown that the alternative model supposes the accretor-propeller state of the primary and allows to classify the evolutionary status of AEAqr as a Pre- Low Mass X-ray Pulsar. The value of the magnetic moment of the primary as well as the Alfven radius in both models are estimated.
