Some new contributions to theories of the acceleration, composition, and propagation of Galactic cosmic rays and other high-energy particles are summarized. The conditions for stochastic acceleration of cosmic rays in transverse MHD shocks, a self-regulating injection model of direct cosmic ray production in shocks from thermal plasma, a Monte Carlo simulation of a collisionless shock, the role of accretion disks in particle acceleration, the age distribution of cosmic ray beryllium at various energies, and the effect of convection on the propagation of relativistic galactic electrons are among the topics discussed.
