Optical, infrared, and radio-wavelength images and optical polarization measurements of the high-redshift IRAS source F10214 + 4724 are examined in an effort to determine whether the underlying energy source is star formation or quasar activity. The strong polarization and relatively narrow extended structure are similar to features found in the other objects believed to be occulted AGN. On the other hand, the low surface brightness radio source is strong evidence for the presence of a starburst. It is concluded that a burst of star formation and a quasar nucleus may both be present.
