Several models of the environment surrounding Herbig Ae/Be stars have been suggested to explain their large infrared excesses. For example, both disks and envelopes have been advanced as the major source of infrared emission. These models are based on matching the sources' spectral energy distributions which contain data from various low-resolution observations (e.g., IRAS). As a result, these models are not constrained by the spatial distribution of flux but only by the total flux they reproduce. We have attempted to provide new spatial and flux constraints to these models through 2.7 mm continuum interferometry. Out of the 9 Herbig Ae/Be stars we have observed so far, only Elias 3-1 (V892 Tau) has revealed compelling evidence for a circumstellar disk. The 2.7 mm emission from this source is found to be strong (50 mJy +/- 13 mJy), unresolved (< 6.5('') ), and coincident with the stellar position (+/- 1('') ). We describe how our data relate to the proposed models of the Herbig Ae/Be circumstellar environment. In particular, our data provide an excellent constraint to the mass of the disk surrounding Elias 3-1.
