Two goals of this program are (1) to improve our knowledge of the stellar population in elliptical galaxies, and (2) to determine more exactly the distance of the Coma Cluster and the implied value of the Hubble constant. Luminosity fluctuations based on pixel statistics will permit the top of the H-R diagram and the top of the stellar luminosity function to be better characterized than possible with groundbased data, while luminosity functions of globular clusters in ellipticals will help pin down the distance of the Coma Cluster (z = 0.023).
