The Advanced Fiber Optic Echelle (AFOE) is an instrument designed for high precision radial velocity observations to detect extra-solar planets and study stellar structure through asteroseismology. A 320 mu m optical fiber is used to obtain solar observations during the day to determine the precision of the instrument, and to study the relationship between stellar activity and measured radial velocities. Here we present the results of our analysis of solar data to determine the short and long term radial velocity precision of the AFOE.
