The comparison of the results of the IRAS observations of the far-infrared (FIR) bright galaxies with the Byurakan classification of the central parts of galaxies show that galaxies of only certain types of Byurakan classification, i.e., types 4, 2, 5, and 2s, which have optical and radio manifestations of nuclear activity, have also a strong FIR radiation. It proves the conclusion reached earlier that these types of galaxies are in an active stage, and that powerful processes of star formation are going on in their nuclear regions. Thus the list of Byurakan classification of galaxies is a good source for looking for galaxies with active starburst processes.
