The Deep Near-Infrared Survey (DENIS) Consortium held a conference covering the following topics: Infrared and other sky surveys, low mass stars and main sequence stars, late type stars, galactic structure, star formation, and extragalactic structure. Along with a similar American project, the Two Micron All Sky Survey (2MASS), DENIS will provide the ability to map large regions of the infrared sky. The large two dimensional infrared array detectors that comprise DENIS and 2MASS will result in near infrared surveys with a sensitivity 104 better than existing surveys.
