NASA’s In-Space Propulsion Technology Program, through a collaboration among four NASA Centers, developed the Low Thrust Trajectory Tool (LTTT) set with the primary object to standardize and improve the state-of-the-art mission analysis tools that were being used across NASA. The project began in 2002 and the tool set was officially released in March of 2006. These tools will enable engineers to better analyze proposed mission concepts for future space missions. The effort was led by Marshall Space Flight Center and the team included the Jet Propulsion Laboratory, Glenn Research Center, and the Johnson Space Center. The product of the collaboration is a tool set that is much easier to use, with standard GUI interfaces, user guides and other previously lacking documentation to support each tool. In contrast with experience using the previous state-of-the-art tools, use of the new LTTT set will ensure consistent and accurate analysis across the mission analysis community. Tool maintenance is funded at a level to enable users to obtain the latest updates to the LTTT set. This paper will address the development of the tool set highlighting each tool and its capability.
