Gamma Ray, Request For Observations, Transients

Scientific paper

During the current AGILE pointing centered near the Aquila field the Gamma-Ray Imaging Detector (GRID) detected a possible candidate gamma- ray transient. Integrating from 2009-04-14 00:00 UT to 2009-04-15 00:00 UT, a preliminary maximum likelihood analysis for energies above 100 MeV shows a detection at a significance level above 4.5 sigma and a flux excess of about 350e-8 +/- 100 ph/cm2/s.
