We report on the first detection of high velocity interstellar absorption features that can be associated with the expansion of the Cygnus Loop Supernova Remnant. Recent observations of several stars with distances in excess of 700pc in line-of-sight towards this SNR have revealed high-velocity absorption features in the associated interstellar NaI and CaII lines. Although high velocity gas has been previously observed in emission towards this remnant, these new observations pave the way for future UV observations that can reveal the ionization structure, temperature and elemental abundance of this expanding shell of shocked gas.
