Spectroscopy and photoelectric U, B, V photometry of the FU Ori variable V1515 Cyg during 1978-1982 are reported. Since 1980 the star has been fading significantly compared with its mean 1975-1979 brightness. Its absorption spectrum indicates that V1515 Cyg is a high-luminosity G2-G5 star. The H-alpha, H-beta line profiles imply an expanding circumstellar envelope. Comparison against the analogous part of the light curve of FU Ori itself suggests that V1515 Cyg, after having been at maximum light for approximately 10 yr, could now be entering a phase of systematic decline.
