We present the analysis of a 36ks Chandra ACIS-I observation of the poor galaxy group containing NGC 3607 and NGC 3608. Although NGC 3607 and NGC 3608 have similar optical properties they differ significantly in their X-ray emission. From the X-ray data NGC 3607 is brighter and appears to be at the center of the group's potential well while NGC 3608 is clearly offset from the center. We present a temperature map and derive the elemental abundances in the gas. By measuring the gas temperature and density distributions, we calculate the gravitating mass profiles of the two galaxies. The effect of the environment on the X-ray properties is then examined by comparing the radial distributions of the gas mass, dark matter, and stellar mass. Support provided by NASA contract NAS8-39073.
