We have observed PKS 1622-297 with the SARA 0.9 meter telescope in the V, R, and I bands in order to determine a maximum magnitude. This blazar was observed to brighten in the V band in late 1995 during an EGRET observation. Subsequent observations in 1996 and 1997 and during three nights in 2001 have revealed that the source is much fainter. In addition, archived observations at gamma-ray wavelengths are considered. The observational relevance to the theoretical dual jet model is discussed (Punsly 1997). We determine the accretion rate of the black hole using the minimum observed magnitude, modeling the accretion disk via a numerical simulation (Webb 1999).
