Data from the ISEE-2 and other spacecraft regarding the plasma stream from the flare of November 22, 1977 are analyzed. It is found that, along the entire chain of spacecraft located to the east and in the 0.5-1.5 AU interval, the normals to the shock front from the flare were deflected to the east and beneath the ecliptic plane. The observed position of the shock front argues in favor of the longitudinal flattening of the shock wave to the plane of the great circle that passes through the flare parallel to the meridional magnetic axis of the bipolar group near which the flare occurred. The data confirm that, in general, there is a close connection between the magnetic axis of the bipolar group near which an intense isolated flare occurs, the configuration and structure of the interplanetary MHD disturbance, and the form and intensity of the resulting geomagnetic storm.
