Approximately 50 new sources of SiO maser emission have been detected with the MPIfR 100 m telescope at a frequency of 43 GHz. The new detections were of Mira variables (27 definite, 6 possible detections), OH/IR stars (19 definite, 2 possible detections), and miscellaneous long period variables (3). A total of 185 objects were searched for SiO emission.
