The quantum numbers and energy spectrum of high energy accelerators and
storage rings are described, along with some ways they may contribute to
astrophysical issues. Some emphasis is given to the role of relativistic
heavy-ion colliders in possibly providing laboratory samples of
quark-gluon plasma.
