Trends observed in the dirunal variation of general atmospheric ozone content over Lake Issyk-kul' in the USSR are discussed. Consideration is given to three individual trends which corresponded to the mixing of vertical air masses by the jet stream and planetary waves: a quasi-linear trend; a distorted trend; and a curve-shaped trend. The occurrence of rapid variations of ozone content was correlated with the frequency of internal gravity waves (IGWs).
