Electron-positron pair production effects on the hard X-ray spectra of active galactic nuclei and gamma ray bursters were studied. Thermal plasmas with temperatures = mcsq and optical depths from 1 to 5, including pair processes, Comptonization and bremsstrahlung were investigated. Analytic and numerical results for equilibrium and impulsively heated plasmas are presented.
