The TENMA satellite observed NGC4151 with gas scintillation proportional counters in January and March 1984. During these two intervals the X-ray intensity is as weak as a few microJy, showing variability on a time scale of a few days. Spectra from NGC4151 reveal a strong iron emission line with an energy of 6.4 keV; i.e., the equivalent width for both periods is 300 to 350 eV. This suggests that the line intensity is too intense to be emitted through a simple fluorescence mechanism due to the observed continuum X-rays above the energy of the K-edge.
