Results are presented of the photographic UBV photometry of NGC 7253a, the primary galaxy of the interacting binary system VV242. Observations were made with the 2.6-meter telescope of the Biurakan Astrophysical Observatory; the scale of the photographs was 20 arcsec/mm. A detailed photometric study shows that NGC 7253a is a giant spiral of late type, perturbed by the secondary component of VV242.
