A description is given of the scintillation-spectrometer system aboard Prognoz-9 intended for the measurement of X-ray fluxes in the 10-50, 25-50, 50-100, and 100-200 keV energy range. A functional diagram of this spectrometer is presented, along with the trajectory of its field of view, and curves characterizing stages of spectrum conversion in this instrument. Results obtained with the scintillation spectrometer are discussed, including the time dependence of count velocities and of the spectral index beta for the flare of October 10, 1983.
