We present preliminary results of population studies of galaxy satellites conducted with samples drawn from the SDSS early data release. We begin with a sample of 15,068 primary galaxies with spectroscopic redshifts. Properties of the satellites within projected distances of 500 h-1 kpc are determined by carefully tested population substraction techniques. We describe the satellite radial distribution (correlation function), the satellite angular distribution (the Holmberg effect), and the distribution of satellite color with radius. Each of these relations are studied as a function of primary galaxy properties such as morphological type, luminosity, and redshift. Funding for the creation and distribution of the SDSS Archive has been provided by the Alfred P. Sloan Foundation, the Participating Institutions, the National Aeronautics and Space Administration, the National Science Foundation, the U.S. Department of Energy, the Japanese Monbukagakusho, and the Max Planck Society.
