Acceleration of particles in the vicinity of shock wave fronts is considered. Particular attention is paid to the reverse influence of the accelerated particles on the flow of plasma in the vicinity of the front. The effectiveness of particles acceleration by weakly non-linear waves is also discussed. It is demonstrated that the shock waves of the type considered are evolutionary. If the viscosity is taken into account, these waves are continuous by their structure. The results obtained are applied to the problem of acceleration of cosmic rays in supernova remnants.
