An experiment is presented in which olivine crystals are vaporized and coarse-grained olivine, pyroxene, a silica mineral and metallic iron are condensed from a gas composed of olivine components and hydrogen at 1200-500 C at low pressures. Both condensates and residues of vaporization may be related to the origin of meteoritic materials such as Ca-Al rich inclusion, chondrules, their rims, and chondrite matrices. It is shown that the most abundant phases in meteorites condense in the laboratory under conditions similar to those of the solar nebula.
