A color-magnitude diagram for the Sculptor dwarf spheroidal galaxy based on CCD photometry is presented. The majority of the small number of blue stragglers seen in the diagram are probably best interpreted as stars similar to the blue stragglers found in some globular clusters rather than as intermediate-age main-sequence stars. The galaxy may have maintained a very low level of star formation for over half its life. The intermediate age population of this galaxy is much smaller than that of the Fornax system and infinitesimal compared to that of the Carina system. Comparison with theoretical isochrones suggests that the bulk of the stellar population in this galaxy is 2-3 billion years younger than galactic globular clusters of similar CNO/Fe ratios. An age difference of this size naturally explains the red horizontal branch in Sculptor.
