Current calculation of the apparent velocity of plasmons or shocks in
the relativistic beaming model is based on the assumption that the core
is fixed in a rest frame with respect to the observer. Improved
observations cast doubt on this assumption. Revised forms of the
relevant formulae in a more general frame are given.
