Using recently published opacity tables, the evolution and stability of
a 15-solar mass star with initial metallicities Z = 0.02 and 0.03 is
re-examined. For Z = 0.03, radial and nonradial pulsations are found to
be unstable for log Teff between 4.326 and 4.43. Implications of the
results for the Beta Cepheid phenomenon are discussed.
