A scheme is devised by which it may be possible to identify pulsars that
are likely to be gamma-ray pulsars. This test is applied to a
representative population of pulsars and the likely candidates for
gamma-emission are identified. Some individual cases including the Crab
and Vela pulsars are discussed.
