Recent research on the elliptic restricted three-body problem concerning the motion of asteroids in the 2/1, 3/1, and 1/1 mean motion resonances with Jupiter is reviewed. Emphasis is placed on results more recent than 1988 derived numerically and analytically. Some of these asteroids originally in a gap can reach such high eccentricities that they can become Mars crossers, Jupiter crossers, and even earth crossers. New results on the largeness of stable zones around the Lagrangian equilibrium points L4 and L5 are presented and compared with existing ones.
