The RATAN-600 telescope for solar radio-astronomical research is evaluated to optimize the use of the device during maximum solar activity. Improvements of the characteristics of the antenna receiver are assessed for: (1) radioheliographic observations; (2) full spectral coverage of the radio telescope at 1.5-18 GHz with frequency resolutions of near 1-2 MHz; and/or (3) solar tracking with msec temporal resolution. A self-adapting receiver complex is set forth which can optimally match observational tasks with instrumental capabilities.
