The periods of torsional oscillation modes of neutron star crusts are calculated for a range of stellar models. For those with masses greater than about 0.6 solar mass (gravitational) the periods fall into two classes. Those associated with fundamental modes have periods of around 20 ms while higher harmonics are of about 2 ms duration. An identification with subpulse and micropulse pulsar emissions is suggested.
