Seven 1.5 x 1.5 deg fields in which guest stars had been reported by ancient oriental astronomers have been surveyed at 610 MHz for radio remnants with the Westerbork Telescope. No diffuse radio emission was detected. A list of discrete radio sources in the fields is given together with suggested optical identifications for those sources with galactic latitude less than 15 deg.
