Photometric and spectroscopic observations are described for stars in four selected areas in the periphery of the 30 Doradus region. The areas are located at distances ranging from 7 to 20 arcmin from the central cluster. UBV magnitudes and spectral types for more than 250 stars are presented. A total of 70 new O stars is reported, most of which are located in the two inner regions. Photometric and spectroscopic data are given of the Wolf-Rayet stars in the surveyed fields. For WR stars in tight clusters, spatially resolved photometry is given. A carbon star is also identified.
